Politicians in Manchester, Cheshire County, Deerfield, Lyme, Harrison, Lawrence, and other towns and states have turned their communities into so-called Sanctuary Cities, which career criminals and illegal immigrants have admitted that they target because they can evade deportation while committing crimes in those cities and towns. The public were not notified beforehand and didn't find out until after the decision had been made. Police are prevented from enforcing federal immigration laws, complying with federal immigration retainer requests, or sometimes even opening emails from ICE.
"Abramson also found support for his petition among local officials. Hampton Selectman Regina Barnes, a President Donald Trump supporter planning to run for state Senate, said the school ballot may not be the place for the petition but still applauded Abramson for submitting it. She said she believes strongly in enforcing the nation’s immigration laws and wants to prevent New Hampshire communities like her town from becoming sanctuary communities. 'These people think Hampton’s got this big shield around it that’s going to prevent (sanctuary cities) from happening here. That’s not the case,' said Barnes. 'I understand why Max did it, completely, and I actually support his effort.'” www.fosters.com/news/20200213/nh-rep-wants-to-ban-sanctuary-cities-he-put-question-on-whs-school-ballot
